Present: Joseph Burke (Director), Rachel Lane (President), Christine Carpenter (Vice-President), Tracy Mayer (Treasurer), Paul Sciliopti (Asst. Treasurer), Katherine Nelson (Secretary), Raelee Grimm

 

Absent: Rebecca Stumpf, Jeff Perlee

1.      The meeting was called to order by Rachel Lane at 6:43 pm.

2.      Public Comment Period
No public comment.

3.      Additions to the November 2024 agenda
None.

4.      Review and acceptance of minutes of October 2024 meeting
Motion to accept the meeting minutes by Raelee Grimm, seconded by Paul Scilipoti. Accepted by the board.

5.      Treasurer’s Report - October 2024
Motion to accept the Treasurer’s Report by Paul Scilipoti, seconded by Rachel Lane. Accepted by the board.

6.      Director’s Report - November 2024
Joe Burke shared the Director’s Report.

 

7.      Committee Reports

a.      Building:
Annual sprinkler inspection was completed.

b.      Finance:
Nothing to report.

c.       Sustainability:
Did not meet.

d.      Communications & Engagement:
Did not meet.

e.      Gala & Events:
Reviewed feedback from our most recent Gala. Discussed potential dates and catering.

f.        Personnel:
Joe has found a temporary clerk to help out.

g.      Policy:
Nothing to report.

h.      Program:
Charlie Brown Friendsgiving is coming up on Sunday, November 24.
The Library Lights Celebration will take place on Friday, December 6.

i.        Nominations:
2025 AFL Board Officer Nominations are: Rachel Lane (President), Christine Carpenter (Vice-President), Tracy Mayer (Treasurer), Katherine Nelson (Secretary). Voting will take place at the December Board meeting.

 

8.      Old Business

a.      Trustee Application Evaluation: Anonymously reviewed applications and selected the following candidates: Debbie Sue Evans and Mallory Fremgen. Motion by Tracy Mayer to accept their applications to join Altamont Free Library Board of Trustees for the remainder of the terms for the two seats that are currently open. Seconded by Raelee Grimm. Accepted by the board. We are grateful for the interest shown in supporting the library and encourage all applicants to stay connected and reapply in the future.

b.      Trustee Education Reminder: All trustees are required to complete 2 hours of training annually. See the Director’s Report for a list of available trainings. Upon completion, send documentation to Joe for recordkeeping.

 

9.      The meeting was adjourned at 8:55 pm.
