EVENTS AT ALTAMONT LIBRARY!

Vision Boarding with Ginger Hannah
Thursday, January 23  @ 6pm to 8pm

Why not start your year off on a visionary note? Please join us to create your very own vision board, with guidance from Altamont treasure Ginger Hannah. A vision board is a visual representation of your goals and aspirations, and the process by which you create it—with drawings, cut out magazine pictures, and words—is a deep dive exploration of what truly matters to you and what you want your future to look like. Please call the library at (518) 861-7239 or email staff@altamontfreelibrary.org to register in advance. I hope we see you in our future!

Juice & Jammies Storytime
Friday, January 24 @ 7pm
Put on your pj’s and join Miss Erika for a low-key pre-bedtime story and snack. This will be the perfect thing to get your kiddos ready to drift off to dreamland.

Eat Around the World Potluck: Chile
Monday, January 27 @ 6pm
Join us for our monthly potluck dinner where we sample the foods of a different country or culture each month. This month, we’re taking a trip down to the South American nation of Chile!

The 13th Annual I Love My Library Gala

The I Love My Library! Gala, our biggest fund raiser of the year, is held each winter. This year we will be holding the Gala on Saturday, February 8th 2020 from 5pm to 9:30pm at the Altamont Community Room. We will be honoring Kristin Casey and Linda Cure, two women who have selflessly dedicated years of their lives to improving their community and their library.  Join us for a fantastic catered dinner and silent and live auctions. (Please feel free to BYOB.) The proceeds go directly to supporting the Altamont Free Library, located in the historic Altamont Train Station. If you would like to join us and have not received an invitation, please email us at Director@AltamontFreeLibrary.org or give us a call at (518) 861-7239.

AFL IS FINE FREE IN 2019

Have you heard? For all of 2019, we will be trying something new: No overdue fines on any children’s books! No matter whether you are a kid, parent, teacher, or anyone else, children’s books checked out here (even if we have to get them from another library) will not accrue overdue fines. Even better, if you have existing overdue fines on a AFL Youth Card, we will clear them. We hope that many of our friends take advantage of this experiment, so spread the word!

Museum Passes Available!                                                                      There are now several local museum passes available at the library! These include:
