ATTENTION TEEN READERS!                                                                    Interested in winning some Teen books and/or book swag? If so, check out our new Teen Reading Contest! Here is it how it works: come check out a book from our teen section that you have never read before, read it, then come back and fill out a short review of the book. You will then be entered into our raffle to win some bookish prizes! Happy reading and good luck!

Annual Book Sale                                                                                                                                                    Saturday, May 5th from 8 AM to 5 PM                                                                                                Find your new favorite book, CD, at the AFL’s annual book sale. You can also find a new home for your old books by donating them to the library! If we can put them into circulation, we will, and if not we’ll sell them to raise money for the library!

Mother’s Day Plant Pot Craft                                                                                                                                         Wednesday, May 9th from 4 – 6 PM                                                                                                     Decorate mini terracotta pots to show the moms and grandmas in your life that you love them! We’ll have all the supplies you’ll need to make a beautiful and creative gift or Mother’s Day.

Juice & Jammies Storytime                                                                                                                               Friday, May 18th @ 7 PM                                                                                                                              Put on your pj’s and join Ms. Erika for a pre-bedtime story, stretch, snack and craft! This “friendship” themed storytime will be just the thing to prepare your kiddos to count sheep.

The SongTeller Sessions Concert featuring Mitch Elrod                                                                     Friday, June 1st @ 7 PM                                                                                                                              This free, all-ages concert series will delve into the creative process of a different singer-songwriter each month. Our performer this month is Capital District singer-songwriter and music scene mainstay Mitch Elrod. This show is free and open to all ages so everyone in the family can attend.

AROUND THE WORLD POTLUCK: NORTH AND SOUTH KOREA                                                       Monday,  June 4th @ 6 PM                                                                                                                           Join us as we celebrate the delicious cuisine from the countries of North and South Korea. Please bring a dish to share with everyone and sign up beforehand at the library or by calling us at 518-861-7239. Cookbooks will be available to be checked out!

SAVE THE DATE: ANNUAL CHICKEN BBQ
FRIDAY, JUNE 15TH

It is nearly time again for the annual AFL Chicken BBQ fundraiser! Every ticket gets you a Wagon Train BBQ half chicken, baked potato, coleslaw, roll, drink, and cookie. Once you've got you dinner, you can either take it home with you or spread out on the lawn in Orsini Park and listen to the Traditional Strings band. Tickets will be $10 in advance, $12 the day of, and will be available soon!


And as always every Tuesdays at 10:30 there is a Preschooler’s Storytime and every Wednesday at 10:30 there is a Toddler’s Storytime!

All museum passes are made possible through the contributions to the Todd Pulliam Memorial Fund.
