I LOVE MY LIBRARY GALA! Save the date and book your babysitter! Please join us at the tenth annual I love My Library! Gala on Saturday, February 11th at the Altamont Village Hall Community Room! There will be dinner, dessert, live and silent auctions, and much more! This year we will honor the amazing Train Station Quilters who do so much to create The Fabric of Our Community. The SongTeller Sessions featuring Bryan Thomas Friday, January 6th at 7 PM Did you ever wonder how musicians learn their craft or what inspires their songs? In the new year, ALtamont Free Librayr will be hosting a new monthly concert series on the first Friday of each month that will try to answer those questions. Our first performer will be local soul rocker Bryan Thomas. All ages are welcome!
An Introduction to Mindfulness Meditation for Parents with Peter Brabant Wednesdays January 11th through February 15th from 5:30-6:15 PM Would you like to be more “in the moment” with your school aged child? Learn relaxation, breathing, and meditation techniques used at Altamont Elementary School with AES Principal Peter Brabant. This six week workshop is limited to 12 participants, so registrar in advance by calling the library at (518)861-7239.
ADULT TRIVIA Thursday, January 12th at 7 PM Make a team, study up, and BYOB to this mind-twisting trivia contest! Entrance is $5 and the winning team takes half of the door. Contestants must be 21 and older.
JUICE AND JAMMIES STORYTIME Thursday, January 19th and 26th at 7 Pm Put on your PJ’s and join Ms. Erika for a pre-bedtime story, snack, and craft!
POSTPONED: AROUND THE WORLD POTLUCK: VENEZUELA MONDAY, JANUARY 30TH AT 6 PM We normally hold our monthly Around the World Potluck on the last Monday of each month. This month, however, that means that our potluck would be on Monday December 26th, while folks will still be digesting their Christmas dinners and trying to decipher new gadget instructions. So, we’re going to take the month off and reconvene in the new year. For the next potluck we’ll be sampling the food and drinks of Venezuela. Please join us at 6 PM on Monday, January 30th to join in the festivities and bring a dish to share.
